CREATE, or the Center for Research in Electronics & Aerospace TEchnology at CSU's Fenn College of Engineering is a center for excellence in more electric technology. CREATE's programs vary from advanced controls technology, power management & distribution, to advanced rotating machinery concepts. The flagship program is the Industrial Space Systems Laboratory, or ISSL.

ISSL is currently developing a highly flexible, modular and updateable satellite bus system, known as the VIKSAT line. As VIKSAT1 nears completion, student & staff engineers, along with professors look to incorporate the advanced more electric technology developed and refined by the sister programs of CREATE, as well as those provided to CSU by NASA's Glenn Research Center.

ISSL and CREATE receive significant support and guidance from the Glenn Research Center, including the involvement of several Glenn engineers.
